Hi! You do not have to accept "your symptoms are just a part of getting older, so get use to it" in regards perimenopause and menopause! Science has left us ladies to navigate this part of every woman's life in the dark. In fact national research dedicates around 10% of funding for women, and a tiny fraction of that for menopausal studies. But we are the generation to question and challenge this injustice, Thankfully, women in the healthcare, research and fitness fields, who are also in this stage of life, are stepping up with the latest science to help us all thrive at this stage and going forward. If you are ready to challenge the status quo, your muscles and mindset, let's do it!

Did you know: You transition from perimenopause to menopause the day you have not had a period for 12 months. You are then in menopause for the rest of your life.

Did you know: Heart disease kills more women than men in the United States. While it was once thought to be a "man's disease", it is now the leading cause of death for women. More men are diagnosed with heart disease, while women are more likely to die from it. Exercise is a helpful deterrent.

Did you know: Up to 50% of peri/menopausal women experience stiffness, muscle pain, and joint pain. Cutting sugars from your diet and getting proper forms exercise can help!

Did you know: As a menopausal woman's estrogen levels decline, gut microbiome diversity declines too. The altered gut microbiome can cause weight gain, metabolic disease, depression, and anxiety. Strategies to support a healthy gut during menopause include eating a diet rich in fiber and prebiotics, and probiotic foods.

Did you know: Dieting/extreme caloric restriction can lead to reduction in bone mineral density, bone loss and an increased risk of fractures. Multidirectional weight bearing exercise can help build bone mass, along with a well balanced diet. No matter your age lift weights!
