Untwist Your Pelvis with Somatics | 2 Lesson Bundle
There are many ways the pelvis can be out of balance:
- Rotated-- one hip is further forward than the other
- Tilted-- one hip is higher than the other
- Torqued -- one half of pelvis is tipped anteriorly (forward), while the other half is tipped posteriorly (backward)
In this lesson we will pay attention to the muscles around the waist and hips that rotate, hike and torque the pelvis, and pandiculate them to release excess tension that runs from the neck to the pelvis.
Students in the live classes noticed
- releases in their SI joints
- legs feeling longer and more symmetrical
- leveling of shoulders
- easier walking and running
Things to know before purchasing
These lessons were recorded in March 2023.
These are an AUDIO recordings, no videos
Each recording is a continuous play recording (no stop and starts to the lesson), and about 45 minutes long.
The lessons are done predominately lying on the floor, while on your back and on your sides.
Somatics for Neck and Skull
Your head is heavy. About 10 pounds. If you have a tendency to tip it slightly it can become habitually out of balance at the top of your neck and spine. And believe it or not, any slight tipping of your neck and skull will create imbalances all the way to your feet. So if you are trying to "fix" your body parts to no avail, this lesson could be just the ticket.
The lesson is done standing and lying on the floor.
Kristin will guide you through this AUDIO lesson with slow, clear guidance to help you gain more sensory awareness of any imbalances and explore pandiculations to help you better balance your noggin and feel better all the way to your feet.
Seated and Standing Somatics Audio Lesson 1.0
People always ask for Somatics movements they can do while standing and seated, so they can blend them into their daily lives. Voila! Kristin Jackson, Clinical Somatic Educator, shares a safe, simple routine to help you free your tension and pain right now, right where you are.
The lesson is divided into 13 individual audio MP3 recordings, for easy recall. It includes
- standing, walking and seated assessments (soma scans)
- movements to release tension in your lower back
- movements to release tension in your shoulders, chest and neck
- movements to relax the sides of the body, ideal for those with scoliosis, sciatica, and sore feet, knees and hips
- a wonderful standing rotational exploration to help with freer walking and easier daily living
This is a basic somatics lesson that builds on the more traditional lying-on-the-floor movements. So it's perfect for those who don't care to get down on the floor right now.
There is an infinite number of ways to explore how the brain can move the body. That is why Kristin calls this lesson 1.0. Future lessons will provide different explorations so stay tuned!
WHAT YOU WILL NEED FOR THIS LESSON
- space in which to walk around
- quite space without distractions (no TV, music, pets, etc)
- a firm seat (chair or stool) without arms. Your feet should reach the floor comfortably with legs at a right angle or greater. Do not use an upholstered chair or couch.
This is an AUDIO recording. Somatics is best done with the eyes closed, to help turn off the occipital part of the brain, thus enhancing the sensory-motor cortex.
This lesson is approximately 50 minutes long.
The Daily Supple-ment. Somatics for freedom of Movement (2 Audio Lessons)
Give this somatics routine 3 weeks and see how it changes your body and your life. This routine is based on Thomas Hanna's Cat Stretch routine. It helps you feel more limber and relaxed. Your brain will relearn to move your spine in all the directions it has lost due to stress, injuries, and inactivity.
This audio lesson includes:
- PDF of tips to get the most out of your Somatics practice
- One 60+ minute audio lesson of the Daily Supplement, including before and after assessment/scans, plus 8 individually recorded movement lessons that flow from lesson to lesson so you really learn the nuances of the movements
- One compact audio lesson of the Daily Supple-ment, that you can use once you have a full understanding of the 8 movements. This compact lesson runs just under 30 minutes.
This lesson is done predominately lying on the floor.
You will need:
* a quiet space with no distractions (TV, pets, music etc)
* space to lie down with legs and arms lengthened on the floor
* ability to get down and up from the floor
* optional pillow or yoga block
* optional yoga mat, blanket or rug... no padding, if you prefer
This is item contains 2 AUDIO LESSONS, approximately 95 minutes total.
Why no video?
Somatics is never about emulating your instructor. We seldom demonstrate moves in a class, rather we guide students through the movements with our voice and imagery. Typically when students do the classes with their eyes closed. By closing your eyes you turn off the occipital lobe, the part of the brain that takes in visual data, so the sensory motor cortex has more "brain power" to focus on the movement and sensations of the movement. You are welcome to contact Kristin if you need any clarification.
Somatics for Sticky SI Joints 1.0
Many people have SI joint pain. But what exactly are SI joints and how can they have pain?
We each have two sacroiliac (SI) joints. The SI joints are where the sacrum (bottom section of the spine) meet the right and left iliac bones of the pelvis. While SI joints are not very mobile, they should have some give and play so you can walk, live and move with ease.
Falls, hiking a baby on a hip, slinging a bag over a shoulder, sitting wonky for long periods of time can twist one side of the pelvis so the SI joint is "stuck" and that equals yuck! This audio recording will help your brain sense what is stuck and let it move more freely.

Somatics Mini Morning Lesson
This video lesson is part of the Streaming Classroom membership.
Upon waking in the morning, we are genetically predisposed to gently move into our days. But most of the time we are pressed to get up, get going, fast! I suggest you take a few moments to luxuriously start your day with some somatic movements, and see if it makes your day easier and more productive.
If first thing in the morning, you've ever stretched your arms over your head, wiggled and rolled a bit, yawn and maybe even made some noises, you are already pandiculating!
This video is about 15 minutes long, but once you know the moves you can do this simple routine in mere moments.
Things to know:
- Do moves gently and don't over effort, since you are on a bed.
- You can do the lesson on the floor.
- Some of the moves are lying down, seated and standing.
- There are many ways to pandiculate. This is just a short routine to play with.
Enjoy!

Free Your Feet with Somatics | video lesson
Do you suffer from sore feet, tight calves, or plantar fasciitis and find it takes a very long time to heal? That's because most people address it by focusing on their feet.
From the Clinical/Hanna Somatics perspective we address the whole body patterns that result in poor gait (walking) that can cause pain in the feet, achilles tendon, knees and hips.
Join Kristin Jackson as she teaches you how to free your habitually tight muscles of the waist, torso, and hips, so your body can move more freely all the way down to your tootsies.
Kristin has personal experience with extremely sore feet after she was hit by a car. With Somatic Education she was back on her feet in a matter of days and have been pain free since.
Get ready to free yourself of your restricted patterns of movement!
Go to the root of everything we do: our brains! By exploring how we currently move, we can learn how to move with more ease, by voluntarily learning to release tight muscles and have better control of them.
Clinical Somatics is unlike anything you’ve ever tried to get you out of pain.
it’s not treatment, it’s an education
its not stretching or strengthening
it puts you in charge of "fixing" yourself, but we really like to call it freeing yourself to move with ease
it’s based on what humans have been doing since mankind first started to walk, right up to we as babies learned how to function and grow
It’s all about basic human function that in most industrialized nations, has been lost due to stress, less movement and products that help us adapt to our dysfunction
This lesson is done predominately while lying on the floor.
For this lesson you will need
* a quiet space on which to lie down (rug, floor or yoga mat)
* a pillow or yoga block (optional)
This is a VIDEO LESSON and approximately 60 minutes long.
Somatics for Stiff Neck, Back, and Shoulders | video lesson
Your body is a moving system of muscles, emotions, thoughts, habits and actions. If your neck is stiff, it's not just all in your neck. The neck is just one part of your spine, so to really move with comfort, let's get the whole body moving with ease.
Are you tired of spending your time and money on treatments, hoping someone will "fix" you, but get no long term results? Then why try to fix your problems from the outside, when really it's an inside job? Hanna/Clinical Somatics goes to the root of all movement; the brain! Accidents, surgeries, etc, can result in our brains contracting our muscles into habitual patterns that we forget how to release out of. We develop Sensory Motor Amnesia and literally forget how to "let it go".
This video will help your brain relearn how to sense what it's doing, release tension in the front, back, sides of the body and free the torso to rotate with freedom and ease. Sure it will help your neck, but it will also help you from head to toe. You'll be amazed at how Somatics changes everything!
This lesson is done predominately lying on the floor.
You will need:
* a quiet space with no distractions (TV, pets, music etc)
* space to lie down with legs and arms lengthened on the floor
* ability to get down and up from the floor
* a flat seated chair or stool with no arms
* optional pillow or yoga block
* optional yoga mat, blanket or rug... no padding, if you prefer
